Do I need a WiFi dongle to use TAP Kiln Control Mobile with my controller?

Short Answer: Only the original TAP Kiln Controller [discontinued] requires a separate WiFi Dongle to connect to a wireless network. All other TAP Controller models have integrated WiFi.

As of 2025, every new TAP Kiln Controller has integrated WiFi and does not require a separately purchased WiFi dongle to connect to a wireless network.

This includes TAP II, TAP II Pro, TAP Micro, TAP Monitor, and TAP&Go.

The original TAP Kiln Controller – now discontinued – requires a separately purchased TP-Link TL-WN823n WiFi dongle to connect to WiFi.
