TAP Logs & Diagnostics

Category: Logs & Diagnostics

You can easily access Error Logs from TAP Kiln Control Mobile or from your controller user interface.

For all of our kiln controllers, you can access Error Logs on TAP Kiln Control Mobile app by selecting your kiln and going to Event Log>Error Logs.

For the TAP II Kiln Controller and TAP II Pro, you can also access your error logs directly from your controller by going to Menu>Error Log

On the discontinued original TAP Controller, you can access your error logs directly from your controller by navigating to Menu>Event Logs>Error Log.

Unlike Bartlett Genesis 2.0 and Skutt Kilnmaster, which only hold error metrics for your last 10 kiln firings, TAP Kiln Controllers let you store detailed data for all of your error logs.

Did you receive an error notification? Find diagnostic and troubleshooting steps for each error message.

You can export all of your firing logs via email from TAP Kiln Control Mobile app, or from the controller interface for the original TAP Controller.

For all of our kiln controllers, you can email your Firing Logs to yourself from the TAP Kiln Control Mobile app by going to Event Logs and selecting Email All Logs (if the mobile app is prior to version 4.4.3, navigate to Event Logs>Firing Logs).

You will then be prompted by a popup to confirm that you want to email all logs.

Select Yes, and your logs will be sent to the email address you used to register for the app.

From your email address, you can then open your logs or download them to your desktop.

Unlike Bartlett Genesis 2.0 and Skutt Kilnmaster, which only store firing logs for your last 10 firings, TAP Kiln Controllers let you store and access all of your firing logs at any time.

Please note: You can only offload logs when the controller is in Standby (i.e., not executing an active firing).

The discontinued original TAP Controller (when connected to WiFi and updated to Software Version 6.0 or higher) also gives you the ability to export your logs from the controller by navigating to Menu>Event Logs and selecting Offload Logs. You will be prompted to choose between email and flash drive offload.

Follow the instructions below to set Preventative Maintenance Alerts…

For TAP II, TAP II Pro, and our other kiln controllers, you can set preventative maintenance alerts from the TAP Kiln Control Mobile app by going to Settings>Preventative Maintenance.

There, you can enter the life expectancy for your relays, elements, and thermocouples. To find this information, you may need to contact your kiln manufacturer or find a product sheet for your components.

For the original TAP Controller, you also have the option to set up preventative maintenance alerts from your controller’s touchscreen by going to Menu>Settings>Preventative Maintenance.
